Welcome to the Marriage License E-Filing Application

What is the marriage license e-filing application?

This program was created to help make your trip to the county clerk's office a fast and easy one by allowing you to enter your information online at your own pace. This program is easy to use and free of charge. However, submitting your application online is optional.
Learn more about Indiana's marriage license e-filing project.

Please be aware that you are not actually issued a marriage license online and no fees are collected during the e-filing process.

Both you and your future spouse are still required to complete your application and obtain your marriage license at the clerk's office. The marriage license fee is due at that time. If you or your future spouse live in Indiana, the marriage license fee is $18; if you both reside outside of Indiana, the fee is $60. Some offices also charge an additional document fee of $2.00, most counties require these fees to be paid in cash.

Can anyone submit an application online?

Not all Indiana counties allow online submissions. You are eligible to submit an application online if one of the following is true:

  • Either you or your future spouse is an Indiana resident and live in a participating county
  • Neither you nor your future spouse is an Indiana resident, but you plan to be married in a participating county
