Protection Order Registry
Protection Orders and No Contact Orders Disclaimer
Electronic access to court information regarding protection orders and no contact orders is restricted by federal and state law in addition to court rules and orders. This site does not provide access to either confidential or sealed case information. Information on this site is made available as a public service by the Indiana Supreme Court.
Information displayed on this site is not to be considered or used as an official court record and may contain errors or omissions. Accuracy of the information is not warranted. Official records of court proceedings may only be obtained directly from the court maintaining a particular record.
Indiana law mandates that, after June 30, 2009, all protection orders and no-contact orders are to be entered into the Protection Order Registry. Although this site should contain information regarding protection orders and no contact orders issued after June 30, 2009, not all protection orders and no contact orders issued by Indiana’s trial courts have been entered into the Protection Order Registry. Again, the information displayed on this site should not be considered or used as an official court record. To determine whether a protection order or a no contact order has actually been issued by a court, the official records of the court should be consulted.
A record contained herein may not indicate whether a court has ordered that a respondent is prohibited from possessing and/or carrying a firearm. This does not mean, however, that the respondent is legally entitled to possess and/or carry a firearm. Both federal and Indiana state laws governing the possession and/or carrying of a firearm may apply. Moreover, the existence of other cases or circumstances may determine whether a respondent is legally prohibited from possessing and/or carrying a firearm. Individuals wishing to determine whether a respondent is legally prohibited from possessing and/or carrying a firearm should obtain such information directly from the appropriate court.
