Security officer training will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 30 South Meridian Street in Indianapolis. Registration is now open and judges should have received a registration link via email.
In the morning, attendees will learn the identifying signs of mental illness and drug use. Additionally, Dr. George Parker will give tips on avoiding violent encounters with individuals who suffer from these conditions. The afternoon session will explore the topic of security threat groups and the most effect ways of dealing with them.
There is no cost for attending this one day training. The Indiana Judicial Center will not be able to cover meals, parking, mileage, or overnight room costs. Continuing education hours will be provided to those in attendance.
Judges may send as many employees as they choose. However, registration will be limited to the first 180 people who register.
